The TRENDnet card, along with a new Ethernet cable plugged into my wireless router, was a simple and inexpensive solution to get my laptop back online for my business calls. It just plugged in and Windows XP found its own driver for it, set itself correctly to 100Mbps and within a minute or so my old laptop was back online. I needed to dedicate my older laptop for the MagicJack I'd been using on my desktop, but the Ethernet port had been damaged. I found the wireless PCMCIA card to be much too slow (54Mbps) for the MagicJack to work properly. I also did not use the included CD. It works fine without it.
A 10/100 NIC card is not an exciting thing. No complaints. Product worked perfectly with Windows ME, as advertised. This one was cheap, universal and well-reviewed by others. All my expectations were met and I was online in about 2 minutes.
This item is perfect for your needs. It worked perfectly for me and solved my problem instantly. It has drivers for Vista if you need them.
I bought this for my computer-illiterate older sister, who uses an ancient Dell laptop running Windows 98. There were no problems installing it and have been none using it.
a very good card for it's low price; works better than more expensive ones
